This is the story of my Coron trip and how I experienced delayed and cancelled flights!
MY WEEK IN PHOTOS: APRIL 30- MAY 6, 2018! (THE ONE WHEN SHE VISITED CORON AND CANCELLED FLIGHTS!)
It’s been my dream to visit Palawan and finally M invited me to join their family trip to Coron, Palawan. I was really beyond happy and I decided to bring my sister with me. It’s my graduation gift to her since she will be graduating on October!
Look at those happy faces! Who wouldn’t be very happy to fly if you stayed at the airport for almost 4 hours because of delayed flight?
We were roaming around the streets of Coron, then suddenly we were at this area where we felt sad with the current situation. The people use this bamboo made bridge and built their homes above this mud. It’s not nice to see but this is all they got.
My sister is actually scared on walking on that bridge, then a man from the neighbor saw us and warned us to be careful because the bridge is very old and sometimes the nails are protruding.
I hope some NGOs can help them. They need help.
The sleeping giant!
Chasing sunset at the Lualhati Park!
Dinner at Karl’s BBQ. We had a very delicious meal that first night! And man, this is worth the wait!
Someone’s ready for the Ultimate Island Tour !
Coron is such a gem! I never thought that I could visit it this year. This trip isn’t really on my plans this year but as the saying goes, ” if an opportunity comes, go grab it!”
This is my DAY 3 breakfast! I love how Coron Ecolodge gives us this variety of breakfast everyday!
Because everyone got tired from the Island hopping we decided to just stay at the hotel and roam around town.
And we got to Coron Souvenir shop and bought some pasalubongs to bring home. There are lot of keychains, mugs and even wood decorative are available at the store.
Also, don’t forget to buy and try Coron’s cashew nuts!
That afternoon, we hiked Mt. Tapyas with its 720 steps. You can see this giant cross at the top and the majestic overview of Coron town.
Tip: Best to hike Mt. Tapyas at around 4 pm and spend some alone time watching the sunset at the summit.
DAY 4 – LAST DAY AT CORON (supposedly!)
We woke up with a dark morning and we can hear the rain pouring outside the window. Coron was raining on a summer day. Here’s the view of our accomodation at Coron.
While we wait for our van transfer to airport, M and I decided to take some photos on this cool wall of a cafe just in front of our hotel.
Of course for the love of coffee we tried Epic Cafe Coron.
Epic cafe has coloring and art materials for their clients to use. Plus, you can hang your artwork at their creativity board. Here’s my calligraphy art!
M’s great with sketching and everything about art so while I describe my dream house, he’s doodling every single detail of it. Cool right?
Welcome to my dream home! Actually I really love country homes, just like that home in the movie A Walk to Remember. Can you spot that swing at the veranda?
We were at the airport at around 12 noon and we wait for our 2pm flight. But the sky was so dark and it started raining. Suddenly, we can here the voice over the p.a. announcing that our flight was CANCELLED due to bad weather.
I saw Gelica’s face turned purple. She was like “whaaaat?” And can you imagine how hungry I am at that moment and how crowded the airport was? It was all mixed and all I can do is to be still and pray that they might continue our flight.
But I guess we still need to embrace Coron. So we booked at Coron Ecolodge again and stayed there for one more night.
Saturday breakfast was a remake of my Coron breakfast.
I attended a outreach program at Munting Tahanan ng Nazareth.
This kid is good in sketching. Look at that Superman! He drew it without a copy image just a photographic mind only.
I know I’ve said that this year I won’t be having any haircuts but my hair is getting longer and uglier. haha!
We attended my Aunt and Uncle’s renewal of vows at Bamban, Tarlac. The chapel is situated near the mountains. Look at those mountains at the background!
To end of our week I prepared some snacks to pair our red wine! That’s a long week I guess. I hope all is well with you guys.
There will be rainy days in our life but always remember to keep your sunny disposition in life. Don’t let your happy days be easily ruined! You always have a choice to be a sunshine over the gloomy days!
Trying to be sunny. Always,
