Exploring: Cebu, Philippines

It was 11 past in the evening of 29th of March and my feet were walking on the pavements of Mactan-Cebu International Airport, the second busiest airport of the Philippines, while laughing with Joana and Jem.

Back on the night of my birthday last January,  I am sitting on a cafe with Joana talking about backpacking in Cebu – the main center of commerce, trade, education and industry in the Visayas and two months later I am at the beach watching sun rise from the horizon.

A four day trip to Cebu:

  • Bantayan Island (Skydiving experience of Joana and Jem)

  • Osmena Peak

  • Kawasan Canyoneering

  • Oslob

Four days is not enough to experience Cebu. While we backpack this beautiful province I see confused faces whenever we tell people that we’re from North and traveling down South. I never understand why they think we were crazy for traveling like this until I saw a map of Cebu. I tried to control my laugh because we literally make our way from North to South!

If I will have the time to travel more often I will definitely book a ticket to Cebu and go to places I’ve never been to this beautiful and richly cultured province.

Where you would go if you have the chance?
